StudyMate for schools

Point AI-assisted studying at your own curriculum.

Students increasingly study with AI. StudyMate gives your institution a way to shape that studying with your own course materials — and gives teachers useful, aggregated insight into where a class is struggling.

What you get

Course-specific support, contributed by your teachers

Institution-provided materials

Upload course readers, notes, and question banks. StudyMate uses them to keep student answers aligned with each class.

Course-specific student support

Students ask questions inside their class and get explanations grounded in that course's materials.

Teacher content contribution

Teachers upload materials for their assigned classes through the same institutional pipeline as admins.

Learning insights

Student questions are grouped into topics so teachers can spot recurring difficulties across a class.

Personalization for students

Students set how much detail and which examples they want, and can switch to step-by-step explanations.

Clear about data access

We tell you exactly what's aggregated, what's individual, and what a teacher can read. See below.

Learning insights

Support signals, not grades

Insights are designed to help teachers spot where students need help — never to label ability or produce a mastery score.

Topics needing review

Questions are clustered by similarity so a teacher sees the concepts a class asks about most, with counts and recent trend.

Students who may need support

Derived from question patterns and shown as support statuses (for example, “may need support”) — not scores or rankings.

Course content overview

Teachers see the materials uploaded for a class, with attribution for who uploaded each item.

Data access, plainly

What teachers can — and can't — see

Teacher access is scoped to their assigned classes and re-checked on every request. Here's the honest breakdown.

Aggregate insights

Class-level activity and topics grouped from student questions (counts and trends) for the teacher's assigned classes. This is the default lens for the dashboard.

Individual insights

Per-student support signals derived from question patterns (such as “may need support”), plus how often a student asked about a topic. These are indicators, not grades or ability labels.

Raw messages

For their assigned classes, teachers can view example and recent student questions (the student's own messages, shown truncated) attached to a topic or student — so an insight is understandable in context. The dashboard does not present a student's full conversation history or the AI's full replies.

Scope & control

A teacher only ever sees classes they're actively assigned to. Teachers are added and assigned by the system owner; there is currently no separate institution-admin console. Cross-class or cross-institution access is blocked server-side.

We describe only controls and analytics that exist today. If a capability isn't listed here, assume it isn't available. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
